Enjoy your day.

We have a tour of this awesome brewery at 1215,  naturally followed by a couple of the beers they brew! Welcome to Lambic beer!

De Cam Volkscafe
Lunch, beer.

After a short journey from Itterbeek, we then have a traditional Flemish lunch at the traditional De Cam Volkscafe in Gooick along with a few beers. Next door is also the Lambic blender, De Cam as well as a museum of traditional Flemish musical instruments! There we go!

Drei Fonteinen Brewery & Restaurant

Look around, beer.
Our last stop of the day is the Lambic brewery Drei Fonteienen (Three Fountains) in Beersel. After a look around the brewery (you'll be experts by now) we have a tasting in the cellar after which we can a further few beers in the excllent resaturant/cafe.

International Streekbierenfestival 2009

Hello Guys,
Well, we went to the International Streekbierenfestival. Was it good? Yes it was, very good in fact and we had a great time along with some 30 other brewers from both Belgium and the Netherlands.
Thanks go to Yvan and his team for organising one hell of a slick festival, again the weather was perfect, the music was good and the beer was flowing.
What was the my favourite beer we had on? Must be the Weissenhohe Altfränkische beer, absolutely delicious! Funnily enough the 15 litres sold out pretty fast.
Cheers and enjoy the photos!

International Streekbierenfestival-14, 15 August 2009

This years International Streekbierenfestival is from 14-15 August in the town of Zwevegem (no, I can't pronounce it either!) just to the east of Kortrijk in West Flanders.
You may be thinking what is this all about then!?
Streek in Flemish loosely translates as 'regional' for us English speakers, nothing to do with going naked. Last year there were some 13000 people and around 30-35 different international bars. Should be good!

We will be there this year with around 200-300 litres of some of Germany's finest beer with our usually named 'Beers of Germany', most of the beer will be hand picked up during our Franconia tours in July and August, we are also hoping to bring back some Annafest beer from Forchheim. The beer will also be mainly dispensed by gravity and in the correct glassware!

Where/When
Friday 1500-0130 (3pm-1.30am)
Saturday 1100-0130
(11am-1.30am)

Zeitgeist-Bier-Mania! Oktober Bier Fest 2008

Our 2nd London Bier Fest this year, the 'Oktober Bier Fest 2008' brings you not only the usual diverse selection of Germany's 'real' beer, but also Augustiner Oktoberfestbier, straight from Munich after our Oktoberfest Tours!
This prestigious event has been organised again by Bier-Mania! Cultural Beer Tours and Zeitgeist (@ Jolly Gardeners) German gastro-pub in Lambeth in association with Stonch from Stonch's Beer Blog.
The Beers
We will have around 1000 litres of mainly draught beer from around 15 different breweries and 20 different beers. Most beers have never visited the UK so they will be a bit shy and will need lots of help!

Most beer will be served from gravity barrels (Stichfass), and we will also have 2 taps serving Augustiner throughout the Fest by Zapfanlage (CO2).
All beers will be served in its correct glass/stoneware!

The beers represent nearly every style of beer that Germany has, the only thing we have missed (we think!) is Berliner Weisse, Gose (Leipzig), Steinbier, Kirschbier (cherry beer from Neuzelle monastery) and Roggenbier (rye beer) .
When
  • Thursday 09 October 1800-0100/closing time (6pm-1.00am)
  • Friday 10 October 1600-0100/closing time (4pm-01.00am)
  • Saturday 11 October 1200-0100/closing time (midday-01.00am)
  • Sunday 12 October 1200-2300/closing time (midday-11.00pm)
Where
The Jolly Gardeners, 49-51 Black Prince Road, Lambeth, SE11 6AB
See map.
Cost
  • £3.70 per 0.5 litre beer.
  • Tokens to be purchased at the main bar.
Food
There will be the standard Zeitgeist food as well as Weisswurst (veal sausage from Bayern) to give the Fest that Bavarian feel!

Beer List (as pdf)

This beer list is provisional as we will be adding more beer to this list!

See you all there!

Bruxellensis 2008 Bier-Mania! Beer List

Hello,
We have now finalised the beers we are taking to Bruxelles next week and think we have a pretty good selection for you to try with 15 different beers, some of which have have never been to Bruxelles before, so it is a bit like a holiday for them!
Please note that not all beers will be available all the time apart from the Zwiesel Dampfbier (1), Schneider Märzen (10) and the Huppendorfer Zwickel (7) all of which we have in bottles.
Beer List as pdf
Cheers! See you there or in London next month!

London's German Bier Fest (15-18 May 2008)

London's German Bier Fest (15-18 May 2008)

Hello everyone,
On behalf of Zeitgeist, Stonch and Bier-Mania!™, we want to say a belated thank you to all of you who turned up last month in Lambeth for our 1st German Bier Fest at Zeitgeist@Jolly Gardeners.

For all those who turned up on Saturday to find all our beer had been consumed, again thanks for coming and we can only say one thing, we only have so much beer so it is '1st come-1st serve'!

Photos from the fest can be seen here.

We were actually completely overwhelmed with the response to the Fest and managed to get through 370 litres (yep, over 740 pints) of beer in just 19 hours after the 1st barrel was tapped! And that was just the Bier-Mania! bar!

Will we bring more next time? We will up it to 400 litres next time! Thursday, Friday and Saturday again, 1st come-1st serve!

Please remember that Bier-Mania! is a tour company and not an importer/exporter. The beers are hand-picked 'real lagers' from small breweries during our beer tours and have a shelf life of only 3-4 weeks.

We are also planning to do these Fests 4 times a year, so watch the blogs for latest news.

Beer tours-Should you wish to consume these beers in the setting they come from then please contact us for our next tours to Bavaria in July and August.

Cheers,
Andy

The Beers (update)
We have added another 50 litres (scared we'd run out) so we now have 310 litres of draught beer from 13 different breweries and 17 different beers.
We have added Bolten Hefe Weizen and Bolten LBB Pils (saw all the beer yesterday at the brewery and couldn't resist it....!).

By the way, if you want to know more about the beers then you'll have to come along and drink them!
